Twitch Emote Maker FAQs
What size do Twitch emotes need to be?+
Twitch requires emotes in three sizes: 28×28px (1x), 56×56px (2x), and 112×112px (4x). Upload at 112×112px and Twitch automatically generates the smaller versions. EmojiCreator.ai exports your Twitch emote at the correct 112×112px dimensions.
What format do Twitch emotes need to be?+
Twitch emotes must be PNG format for static emotes or GIF for animated emotes. Maximum file size is 1MB. PNG with transparent background is recommended so your emote looks clean on both dark and light Twitch themes.
Do I need to be a Twitch Affiliate or Partner to have custom emotes?+
Yes. Twitch Affiliates get 5 emote slots. Twitch Partners start with up to 60 emote slots, depending on subscriber count. You must be at least a Twitch Affiliate to unlock custom emote uploads.
How do I upload an emote to Twitch?+
Go to your Twitch Creator Dashboard → Viewer Rewards → Emotes. Click "Upload New Emote," choose your PNG file, and upload at the 112×112px size. Twitch generates the 28px and 56px versions automatically.
How do I make a Twitch emote?+
Upload your image or idea to EmojiCreator.ai, let AI generate or edit your emote, then download at 112×112px PNG. Keep the design simple and readable at small sizes — Twitch emotes are often viewed at 28×28px in chat.
Can viewers use my Twitch emotes without subscribing?+
By default, custom emotes are subscriber-only. However, if you use Twitch Bits, you can create Bits-unlock emotes that non-subscribers can access after using Bits in your channel.
